Our Staff and Facilities
The staff at the Hammond Square Children's School are selected on their strong love and commitment to children as well as their professional experiences and qualifications. All staff have Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care certification (at minimum) and hold current First Aid and CPR certificates. The overall school staff child ratio is 1:10.
The school facilites include two large self-contained classrooms and a well equipped playground area. The enormous amount of natural light and soft colors in the school rooms help to create a warm, comforting environment for the children. There are child size sinks in each classroom and room air conditioners (for extremely hot days) otherwise the windows are open for fresh air. The school entrance door has a security system to ensure a safe, contained environment. Our playground contains swings, a playhouse, oversized sandbox and a climbing structure as well as ample open space for hula-hooping, chalk drawing, etc… In addition to the classrooms and playground the school utilizes the church's auditorium. This wide open indoor space is ideal for large group gross-motor activities as well as music activities. It also provides the children with a space to use in inclement weather.
